Bronchoscopy refers to instrumentation of the airway with a bronchoscope in order to visualize the airway beyond the scope of a laryngoscope, for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Pediatric bronchoscopy entails two endoscopic techniques: Flexible and rigid bronchoscopy. It can be emergent or elective. It gives anatomical and dynamic information of the airway. For children, special equipment; sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology of pediatric airway; tertiary care settings, monitoring of electrocardiogram and oxygen saturation; experienced anesthesiologist and foresight of complications are a must
